Mission Statement for Monroe County Youth Development Initiative:
The mission of the Monroe County Youth Development Initiative is to inform the community-at-large about developmental assets for children and to effect attitudinal and behavioral change to create an asset-rich environment in Monroe County.

How does the Monroe County Youth Development Initiative differ from other youth serving programs in Monroe County?

Answer:

This initiative is not another program! There are already plenty of great youth serving programs in existence in our community already. This is a grass-roots, low cost no cost, process of encouraging adults in our community to change their perspectives and attitudes towards young people. We hope to create a more youth-friendly community by educating people on the power of the forty-developmental assets and help make community assets more accessible to young people in need.
